Meet Mandy

It all began with a dream…

A dream to make our planet a healthier place to live for all.

The environment and the health of our beautiful planet is always on my mind.

I do my best to live sustainably and make conscious choices where I can. I’ve learned to live minimalistic, how to feel freedom in having less and appreciating the little things in life.

What we eat has a huge impact on our personal wellness and that of the Earth. I feel empowered with that knowledge. Due to conscious choices in our day-to-day routine and lifestyle, we can make a big difference. We ourselves hold the power to make the change.

I started Go Green with Mandy because I wanted to share the incredible knowledge I had received through my education in Nutrition. During this time I discovered so many things about personal health and the influence we have on it, and I believe that this information needs to become common knowledge, not just for people interested in nutrition, but for everyone, because we all eat.

Combined with the knowledge I gained during my profession in scuba diving and through nature conservation, I want to spread awareness about why the way we choose to live is so import - how a healthy green lifestyle comes with huge positive influences on our own wellbeing and on that of our planet.

I am successfully qualified as a nutritionist, specializing in whole foods plant based, orthomolecular and holistic nutrition.

My love for Green…

I've always been an animal lover and my favourite place to be is outside, enjoying the sunshine. Put me in a forest or close to the water, and I’m a happy girl.

The green in Go Green with Mandy, does not only represent the colour of a green leaf, but the whole tree, an entire forest, but equally the beauty underwater and the colours in our food. It represents nature as a whole. And holistically, we are a part of nature.

My appreciation for nature grew substantially during my years overseas. Between 2012 and 2020 I travelled, lived, worked and enjoyed nature’s beauty in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Egypt and many other countries in between.

I left my home country because I’m an adventurer at heart and in love with the ocean and all marine life. My other true passion is, scuba diving. I am a qualified PADI Master instructor.

Being underwater feels like home to me, and being able to teach and show others the beauty of the aquatic world is something I’m truly grateful for.
I’ve learned so much about our planet’s health, and its current state, through diving and travelling.

I have seen first hand how incredibly beautiful our Earth is, but also what negative influences we have on it. The increase in plastic that ends up in the seas and on land, the decline of aquatic life in our oceans, as well as the decline of natural habitats and wildlife on land.

The impact we have on the environment, the animals and ourselves is huge.

I wholeheartedly believe we can do something about it. Food is the most intimate connection we have with our Earth, therefore changing the way we eat, is one, if not the best, way to make a difference!

My love for Food…

Food makes me happy, I honestly love to eat, and I eat a lot.

It’s a big part of our lives, and I believe it is very important to have a healthy relationship with food.

During my studies and the years living abroad, I learned how my passion for sustainability and food go hand in hand. Wherever I went, which ever country I visited, I loved exploring the different cultures, food and flavours. And I still very much enjoy trying new foods and recipes.

The lifestyle and diet I follow and encourage to others, is not about sacrifices, limitations or counting calories. It’s about enjoying delicious food to the fullest. About enhancing your current lifestyle with natural, healthy, whole foods, and about approaching food with an open mind and a curious belly.

Through Go Green with Mandy I wish to inform people how to take better care of themselves through diet and lifestyle. I have seen and noticed amazing changes in myself since making little, positive changes every day, and I wish the same for you.

My aim is that what we eat becomes something to celebrate, instead of something to stress over. It is quite simply the most liberating way of eating and living.
